Halloween Tag 2019

As it’s Blogtober and Halloween is fast approaching, I couldn’t resist the chance to join in with a fun, Halloween Tag.

I was tagged by Joanna who blogs at Joanna Victoria – a parenting and lifestyle blog.

Bring on the questions!

1. What’s your favourite non scary Halloween film?
Hocus Pocus for sure! I absolutely love it and have already watched it once in the last week.

2. And your favourite scary film to watch is?
I am a little bit of a wimp so don’t watch many scary films! I used to sleep over at my Grandma and Grandad’s when I was younger and we would have some treats and a movie night. I remember watching the Scream and the I Know What You Did Last Summer movies during our sleepovers – probably not the usual movie night choice with your grandparents but great memories!

Fun Fact – My first date was when I was 14 and I went to see Final Destination with my best friend Emma and the boys we were seeing. No back row snogging occurred as I was jumping out of my skin!

3. Do you have any Halloween traditions?
I really enjoy the half term holidays with the boys and we often go out to do some Halloween activities that happen in the local area. We really love the Halloween Trail at Bluebell’s Farm in Derby where you end up in the Pumpkin Patch and can pick a pumpkin to take home. This year I have a couple of days out planned and will be sure to share them with you and let you know what we think!

The boys like to dress up and go trick or treating, we like to do lots of Halloween crafts and decorate the house, carve our pumpkins and watch spooky movies – Hotel Transylvania, Caspar and Spookly The Square Pumpkin have always been faves and this year I will be introducing them to The Addams Family.

4. What is your favorite season of American Horror Story?
I’ve never watched it! I keep meaning to though.

5. Favourite thing about Halloween?
I love the beginning of Autumn, the cosy nights, the Autumn scented candles, the pumpkin spice coffees and baking, Halloween movies and pumpkin carving!

6. What Halloween costume will you or your children be wearing this year?
The boys will be in Disneyland Paris for Halloween this year with their Dad. I am hoping at least one of them will want to be Jack Skellington!

7.Has anything spooky ever happened to you?
As a child I saw a ghost. I remember vividly that it as a little girl and she had my brother’s Thomas The Tank Engine, she kept banging it and I wanted to tell her it didn’t work but didn’t dare get out of bed! My mum says I used to see someone sat on the end of my bed too but I don’t remember that. She said I told her what we had talked about and as I never seemed scared or upset she didn’t push it and I obviously just eventually stopped!

I also went on one of the Derby Ghost Walks about 15 years ago with my boyfriend at the time. I was much less of a scaredy cat back then but it was interesting and a good night out!

8. Who is your favourite fictional serial killer?
Raymond Reddington from The Blacklist. Absolutely love that show!

9. What’s on your Halloween playlist?
I love the cheesy Halloween tracks like The Monster Mash and have dance parties with the boys!
10. Would you spend a full night inside of a haunted house if someone paid you?
Oh gosh! It would have to be a lot of money!
