In collaboration with Brandon Hire Station

Half term is here and I know all of us parents are looking for things to keep the kids occupied, so it was great to hear about these competitions that will not only get the creative juices flowing – but there are prizes up for grabs too!

Keep the Kids Occupied: Competitions Galore!

Kids are always energetic and looking for something to get stuck into, so why not put that energy into some health competitions? Whether it’s a simple prize such as camping tickets for the family to Carfest Festival, tickets to Legoland, or a small cash prize, the chance to win a prize is appealing enough, especially if entry is free!

Here are some small competitions that might catch your fancy!

Asda’s Design a Christmas Card Competition is open to primary school children (ages 4-11 years). You can enter your children’s artwork using the form found on the website. The competition is looking for a design that represents the most Christmassy Christmas ever! So, if your little one is itching for Father Christmas to make a visit, get them to give this one a go!

For a little more skill-based competition check out the Young Amateur Photographer of the Year found on Photocrowd’s website. Open to those in the UK children aged 5 – 7 years. All entries are judged by an expert and the winner of each round in Young APOY 2022 will take home a £250 (GBP) voucher from MPB.

Global Canvas – Children’s Wildlife Art Competition is an international children’s art competition that is open to groups and individuals aged 4-16. The theme for this competition is Biodiversity – the complex web of life”. With past winning pieces available to check out for inspiration, such as Ding Workshops winning group piece, this competition is easy to get stuck into!

Here’s another challenge with a chance to win 4 tickets to go to Legoland! Brandon Hire Station is offering the chance to get young creative minds ticking! Aimed at children pre-school age and younger, the competition is getting young minds to design upcycled furniture!

Get your children to reimagine old furniture, whether it’s giving a chair a new lick of paint, or repurposing an old chest of draws. You can send your entry to Brandon Hire Station on Facebook or Instagram, or email it to competitions@brandonhirestation.com. Note that entrants must be primary-school-aged.

So, if you’re looking for a way to entertain your little ones, give some competitions a try! You might find your little one has a hidden talent!
