Blog Tour Book Review – Fatal Fortune

Ad | Gifted

Happy bank holiday weekend – sorry this is going up a couple of days later than planned but I have been suffering with a major headache that I can’t shift (luckily it hasn’t progressed into a full blown migraine but it is pretty bad) and I have had the boys so been very busy. I am pleased to be working alongside damppebbles blog tours for the first time for this review!

Fatal Fortune by Miranda Rijks

The Blurb

Is someone trying to frame psychologist Pippa Durrant for the brutal murder of a woman she’s never even met? It certainly seems that way when Pippa’s photo is found on the body of murdered lottery winner, Leanne Smith. Pippa soon finds herself a suspect at the centre of a huge media storm. But she has an invaluable skill set – she is a human polygraph, expertly trained to spot lies and deceit. Skills she will need to help her to solve the mystery of who killed Leanne before it destroys her career – and her life. But every cloud has a silver lining and this one arrives in the shape of DS Joe Swain. Initially suspicious of Pippa, he comes to trust her and to value her lie detection skills. Soon it’s clear there’s a definite spark between them…. Then, when another body turns up, Pippa realises her reputation isn’t the only thing in danger. Can she identify the killer before she becomes the next victim? Fatal Fortune is the electrifying first book in the Dr. Pippa Durrant Thriller Series. If you like edge-of-your-seat action, clever sleuths, and shocking twists, then you’ll love Miranda Rijks’ gripping crime novel.

What I Thought

Fatal Fortune is the first book of Miranda Rijks books I have read but has definitely made me want to read more of her work.

A fast paced, exciting thriller that keeps your attention all the way through. The characters are well thought out and though there are a lot of them to meet at the beginning of the book which is a little daunting at first, you will soon get into the story line.

There are lots of twists and turns and everything comes together well to form an unexpected ending. I am so glad this is the first of a three part series and there will be more to read – now I just have to wit for it! I recommedn to all thriller fans – you won’t be disappointed!
