Me, My Bag and I – The Salts Healthcare Podcast

Good morning and happy new week! I have some exciting news to share with you all about a new podcast that launched this month from Salts Healthcare. Everyone who follows the blog will know I am a big fan of the Salts Confidence Be bags (see my review here) and I have been honoured to get the chance to work with them in the past. This post isn’t sponsored and I have chosen to talk about it on my blog, but for transparency I just wanted to let you know!

Salts Healthcare has some exciting news!

At Salts we are always looking for new and exciting ways to talk to people living with a stoma, sharing their real stories and providing supportive information. More and more people want to get information and advice from a variety of sources and be able to choose when and how they get it.

We are proud to launch our NEW monthly Ostomy Podcast, “Me, My Bag and I”, available to download or subscribe to from 1st July 2019.

There are around 120,000 people living with a stoma in the UK alone. Every month, we’ll be listening in to some friendly chats amongst some of them, their friends and family, carers and nurses, about things you tell us matter.

We’ll be covering topics including getting back to work, sex and relationships, mental health and mindfulness, the importance of support from family and nurses, common issues and complications, and some of the challenges young Ostomates face from going away to study, to partying in Ibiza!

Salts Healthcare, 2019

Sounds fab doesn’t it! Podcasts are really popular at the moment and I think it is a great medium for an ostomy company to get involved with as the more awareness and support out there the better. I have listened to the first episode – It’s Not All Work, Work Work – and I really enjoyed it. Featuring a real life ostomate sharing her experiences with her friends in a conversational manner makes it really easy to listen to. It also makes the podcast a good listen for both fellow ostomates with tips and advice, but also gives non-ostomates a range of information as well as an insight to life with a stoma.

A new episode is released on the first of every month and you can find the podcast on whatever podcast app you currently use. I have added them to the favourites list on mine so I won’t miss an episode!
