Setting Up The Emergency Contact Information on Your I-Phone

So at the beginning of the year I went to the dark side – I ditched my trusty Samsung’s and upgraded to an I-Phone! I am pretty terrible with all forms of technology and am still now getting used to it, but Tom recently showed me this nifty little hack and I think it is a great idea for all my fellow spoonies and wanted to share!

So first you need to swipe up as if you want to unlock your phone.

in the bottom left hand corner, tap EMERGENCY.

Then again in the bottom left hand corner, tap MEDICAL ID.

This brings up an information page which you can edit to include:

  • Name
  • Age
  • Medical Conditions
  • Medical Notes
  • Allergies and Reactions
  • Medications
  • Blood Type
  • Weight
  • Height
  • Emergency Contacts

I have added four people as emergency contacts as I know both my parents can’t always have their phones with them while they are working, so I think it is best to have a few options.

I don’t know about you but I have a clutch of different medication alert cards and think this is a much easier way of keeping all the vital information together in one place, should there be an accident.

I am sure some of you already know about this but I hope it is as helpful to some of you as it was to me! Let me know if you already have this set up or if you do now after reading this post in the comments below. Hopefully we should never need it but it does give some peace of mind just in case! Take care and keep safe,
