This post has been a long time in the making – mainly because with the boys not physically being here, we haven’t had the chance to play it ‘properly’ until this last fortnight. However, we have been playing it over video calls which has been great and something different to do while we have been chatting.

We were kindly approached by Tactic Games and asked if we would like to try out their new board game. We are huge board games fans in this house, so of course we said yes, as we are always on the lookout for something a bit different!

I Love Britain

The board game is aimed at children from the age of 7 and up. Players race around the United Kingdom, visiting different regions and answering questions about British culture, traditions, nature and more! There are five different subject areas and once you have collected a card from each subject (by correctly answering the question) you win!

What We Thought

It took us only a couple of minutes to get the hang of the game and then we were off! While me, Ste and Leo were mainly hanging around the south of the country, Riley seemed to travel the length and breadth, ending up in the far north of Scotland by the end of our first game!

Obviously the game has a learning element to it – and not just for the kids! Me and Ste actually picked up a lot from the game too! The boys were kept interested as the questions were really varied and not at all boring. There are definitely some quirky facts about our country to be picked up as you play!

Poor Leo actually answered the most questions correctly, but Ste was declared the winner as was the first to collect a card from each of the five categories. The game takes just about the right length of time to keep kids interested, although we have played it twice in a row on a couple of occasions as the boys were desperate to win again!

This game is great and can be enjoyed by both kids and adults alike. It is available on The Range website for £13.99 with free delivery if you want to give it a go!

A perfect addition to our Summer Holiday rainy day pile and I am sure it will be bought out many times again in the next few weeks! Take care and keep safe everyone,
